I thought Obamacare was going to stop all bad things happening. This article was published in February 2011,  but the problem is getting much more severe, today.   I had to travel around to three pharmacies to find any prescriptions that Wal-Mart has had on backorder for weeks.  I could only get three weeks on the refill at the third pharmacy.  There is an accute shorage of the brand named and generic brands nationwide.  I ask the Pharmacist if they were experiencing problems with other drugs, and they said yes, half or more of all drugs are on backorder as of this date.  Wal-Mart regional warehouses report that they are in extreme short supplies on hundreds of highly needed prescriptive meds. Pharmaceutical companies are discontinuing any older versions of drugs in favor of the new updated versions, of course they are very expensive, but leaving huge supply shortages. Where is Obama’s FDA? They say it is not their problem, it is the Pharmaceutical firms and also global expansion.  Two pharmacists told me that many elderly patients are simply turning around and leaving with no prescriptions, they are confused about all of this.  They fear they will just forget to follow up later.  Pharmacist told me that they see a real danger with patients needing mental health or psychiatric drugs that are on back order and many patients cannot tolerate running out or they will become very dangerous.

Is this any way to run a country?
