The public schools in Dearborn Michigan have been teaching Arabic for the last few years, this is not new, major funding is pooring in from the Federal US Department of Education for Arabic Language to be taught in public school nationwide. The need to teach language and cultural aspects of Islam is gaining strength in America by the teachers in public schools. It is not so concerning until it is mandatory, then I believe we need to question the motive.
