Megabyte’s Tech Tip – Cleanliness is next to Godliness
Hi, I’m Megabyte. I may look like a stupid whacked out kid’s toy, but I know alot about computers. One thing I know is that once every two years you should disconnect your desktop computer, remove the side cover, take it outside and blow out all the dust. Computers are like dust magnets. The fans draw in the dust and there is no way for it to escape. Built up dust can cause havoc with the electronics. Fans slow up or stop altogether and when a computer overheats, its not good. Next week we’re going to have our cruddy computer case contest. The winner gets a t-shirt. If you have a computer with gross innards, send us a photo. We’ll post our top three contestants and you can pick the winner. In the meantime, you can take a look at a really dirty computer we found. If your computer isn’t this dirty, don’t even enter the contest.
