Sleeping Tech – Cracked Notebook Screen Workaround

QUESTION: I dropped my notebook and the screen cracked. The notebook still works, but I can’t see the entire picture and don’t want to put out $$$ right now. Any suggestions?

SLEEPING TECH: ZZZzzz. (What sleeping tech snored was that you can plug in a computer LCD to the notebook VGA port and use that monitor.  If the picture doesn’t automatically switch to the LCD, Press the FUNCTION key and F5 or appropriately marked Function KEY to switch the signal.  By the way, ST (Sleeping Tech) wanted to let everyone know that he’s not the only tech that falls asleep working – A Comcast Technician Sleeping on my Couch
